RICHLAND COUNTY, S.C. (WOLO)– Four juveniles have been arrested and will be charged as adults after two separate burglaries in Richland County, say the sheriff’s department.

The Richland County Sheriff’s Department says deputies responded to a burglary alarm that was activated at the R1 CrossFit Gym on Forest Drive around 8 p.m. on Dec. 23.

When deputies arrived they found 17-year-old Hannah Harder and 17-year-old Alexander Clement inside the gym on roller skates, say Richland County deputies.

Both 17-year-olds were arrested without incident and charged with burglary.

Deputies say a backpack belonging to one of the juveniles containing burglary tools was found inside the gym.

Harder and Clement were taken to jail and each released on a $15,000 PR bond.

“It’s sad that these young people made a bad decision to break into the Sheriff’s Department gym,” said Sheriff Leon Lott.

On Dec. 28, in the early morning hours deputies were doing a property check at 3400 Forest Drive, when a burglary alarm activated again at the R1 CrossFit Gym, say RCSD.

When deputies arrived to the scene, 17-year-old Timothy Walden and 17-year-old Kyle Livingston were found inside the gym.

Richland County deputies say after a warning sign from a K9, both of the juveniles surrendered, were taken into custody and charged with burglary.

RCSD says there have seven people arrested and charged with burglary in the last month at the location.

“Their Christmas and New Year’s will be spent at the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center. Bad decisions will result in the Sheriff’s Department holding you accountable. A burglary charge is very serious,” continued Sheriff Lott.
